Last Friday, Inman was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 12-8 to Medicine Lodge. Inman has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Inman still got an impressive performance from Talon Welch, who rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Welch was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards.
The critical scores for Medicine Lodge came from Kye Gerdes and Carter Cunningham.
Inman's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 Sedgwick and 8-1 Marion (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 75% over those games). As for Medicine Lodge, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Inman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Medicine Lodge will be playing in front of their home fans against Oakley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
