Christ Chapel Academy's game last Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 56-46 victory over Fredericksburg V. That's another feather in the cap for Christ Chapel Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
It was another big night for David Neaves, who scored 20 points along with six steals. Mark Greenlee was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Fredericksburg V lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Chris Jones, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Jones scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Arndt, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Fredericksburg V smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christ Chapel Academy only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Christ Chapel Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Fredericksburg V, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15.
Christ Chapel Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Centurions at 5:30 p.m. One thing working in Northern Virginia HomeSchool's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. Fredericksburg V is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on February 1st. Fredericksburg Academy is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
