The Mount Vernon Majors will venture away from home to square off against the Justice Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mount Vernon knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Justice likes a good challenge.
On Tuesday, Mount Vernon made easy work of Annandale and carried off a 14-8 victory. Considering the Majors have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Noah Toy made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sean Peterson, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Talon Camacho was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases and two runs.
Mount Vernon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Justice lost 16-3 to Hayfield on Tuesday. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Mount Vernon has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Justice, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
Everything went Mount Vernon's way against Justice in their previous matchup back in March, as Mount Vernon made off with a 16-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Majors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
