The Clay-Chalkville Cougars will face off against the Moody Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, Clay-Chalkville beat Oneonta 7-2.
EJ Thomason spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nic Youngblood, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Sean Coleman was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Moody came tearing into Saturday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 12-8.
Cole Self made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Self was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, Bryant Hardin was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Braden Wright, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Moody hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pleasant Grove struck out eight times.
Moody's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Clay-Chalkville, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
