The New Standard Academy Spartans waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 73-67 W over Bendle. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabe Alomar, who scored 15 points along with two blocks. That's the first time this season that Alomar scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Bingham, who scored 13 points.
New Standard Academy pushed their record up to 6-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Bendle, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
New Standard Academy will head out on the road to face off against Bridgeport on Tuesday. Bridgeport is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Bendle, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Bentley at 7:00 p.m.
