Gulf Pointe Latin has struggled against L.E.A.D. Academy recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Gulf Pointe Latin had strong showings from Dean Fillmore, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds, and Will Luthin, who scored 13 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Fillmore scored 15 or more points. Kyler Aikins was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Gulf Pointe Latin has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for L.E.A.D. Academy, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-16.
