After a string of four wins, the Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons Golden Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 64-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mayfield. Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mayfield apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Cloey Dopp continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mayfield, scoring 30 points along with three steals. Dopp is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brianna Iannuzzi, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons' defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Mayfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.
Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons will head out on the road to challenge Hartford Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Mayfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
