St. Joseph Catholic extended the longest winning streak in 2A Region 6 this week by beating Loyd Star, 44-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Bruins.
St. Joseph Catholic took down the Hornets 44-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Flip Godfrey's team's Chris Hanneke and Nick Beasley have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hanneke has thrown for 468 yards this season, while Beasley, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has nine catches for 243 yards. Puckett's Hakeem Carr leads the league in rushing yards with 547.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Bruins take on the Wolves. St. Joseph Catholic is in first place, while Puckett is in third place.
There should be lots of points scored when the Bruins and Jaris Patrick's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, St. Joseph Catholic comes in having scored 220 this season, while the Wolves have scored 44. The Bruins scored 44 points last week as they bested Loyd Star.
Puckett led 2A Region 6 in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on Enterprise.
