The FAMU DRS Baby Rattlers will be playing at home against the Godby Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully FAMU DRS focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday.
FAMU DRS scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They came out on top in a nail-biter against North Bay Haven Academy and snuck past 49-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory FAMU DRS has posted yet this season.
FAMU DRS's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Queenn Love, who scored 17 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Love has scored at least a third of FAMU DRS's points. Priya Ratnaswany was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with four steals.
Godby suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 68-30 loss at the hands of Rutherford. While losing is never fun, Godby can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while Rutherford is ranked 20th).
FAMU DRS has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-9 record this season. As for Godby, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5.
FAMU DRS might still be hurting after the 44-18 defeat they got from Godby in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Godby's Zaniah Andrews, who scored 15 points along with five steals. Now that FAMU DRS knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
