On Friday, the Southeast Cyclones faced the Hot Springs County Bobcats in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Southeast was outmatched by Hot Springs County on the road and fell 72-42. Southeast was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-14.
Despite the defeat, Southeast had strong showings from Cole Sauer, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals, and TJ Moats, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Southeast and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Hot Springs County, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeast will challenge Burns at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Burns focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 34 on Friday. As for Hot Springs County, they will head out on the road to face off against Wheatland at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Wheatland is ranked ninth, while Hot Springs County is ranked second).
