Basketball Recap: Phillip Nadeau's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Oak Grove over Moberly

Oak Grove lost against Moberly back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Oak Grove Panthers fell just short of the Moberly Spartans by a score of 61-58. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly three points.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Phillip Nadeau, who shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. The game was Nadeau's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Keenan Brady, who went 8 of 14 en route to 17 points and six rebounds.

Moberly got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cameron Doubrava out in front who went 6 of 13 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Bivins, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Oak Grove and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Moberly, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Oak Grove will take on Richmond at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Grove is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season. As for Moberly, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 58-35 win against Salisbury on the 10th.
