The Jacksonville Golden Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Etowah Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jacksonville will be strutting in after a victory while Etowah will be coming in after a loss.
Jacksonville had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against Talladega by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Jacksonville was the better team in the second half.
They hit Talladega with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Matias Goggins (2),
Landon Garner, and
Elijah Stinson.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Etowah's offense. Their tough 4-0 defeat to Lincoln last Thursday might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Etowah in their matchups with Lincoln: they've now lost three in a row.
Jacksonville skirted past Etowah 3-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Will Jacksonville repeat their success, or does Etowah have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
