The Jefferson Davis Academy Raiders are taking a road trip to square off against the Edisto Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Jefferson Davis Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Edisto's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Saturday, Jefferson Davis Academy came up short against Orangeburg-Wilkinson and fell 4-1. The matchup marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

03/14/25 @ Williston-Elko | 2 |
03/11/25 vs Wardlaw Academy | 2 |
03/17/25 vs Williston-Elko | 1 |
03/13/25 vs Whale Branch | 1 |
Corbin Perry was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Edisto, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past Whale Branch 13-3 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won three games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Michael Myers made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Max Dempsey was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Another player making a difference was Wayne Felder, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Edisto always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Whale Branch only posted an OBP of .346.
Edisto is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Jefferson Davis Academy and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Jefferson Davis Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Edisto struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
