Smithfield's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Bruton Panthers with a sharp 30-5 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Packers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cheyenne Debusk was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Smithfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .846. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bruton only posted an OBP of .409.

The win got Smithfield back to even at 1-1. As for Bruton, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Smithfield will host Lafayette at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bruton, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Northampton at 4:30 p.m.
