On Thursday, the Hackberry Mustangs got the win against the Gueydan Bears  by a conclusive  15-2.
 Calli Trahan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit over five innings pitched. What's more,  she gave up only zero  earned runs, the fewest she's  had since back in March of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 4-for-4. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in March of 2024.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Kynlin Moore, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave  her a new career-high in  doubles (two).  Aubre Mire was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 Hackberry was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .545. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
Hackberry's win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 3-4. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to  hits: they averaged an imposing 13.33  hits in those games compared to only 5.5 in the others. As for Gueydan,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 1-7.
 Looking ahead, Hackberry will square off against Starks at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Starks knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Hackberry likes a good challenge. As for Gueydan, they will face off against Lake Arthur at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Gueydan has given up an average of 15.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
