Basketball Recap: Chattanooga Prep Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Montgomery Bell Academy

On Saturday, Chattanooga Prep faced Montgomery Bell Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Chattanooga Prep Sentinels fell 57-45 to the Montgomery Bell Academy Big Red. The Sentinels have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Despite the defeat, Chattanooga Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Marcus Jones went 8 for 16 en route to 16 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Jones a new career-high in points. Demarion Bowman was another key player, putting up eight points.

Chattanooga Prep's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Montgomery Bell Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.
