The Andover Huskies will venture away from home to take on the Anoka Tornadoes at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Andover's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Robbinsdale Armstrong with a sharp 10-0 victory. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Megan Surgenor was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Avery Stock was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Chloe Brown, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Anoka, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against Coon Rapids on Tuesday as they made off with a 14-1 victory. Considering the Tornadoes' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
The team relied heavily on Maddy Freking, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Olivia Fierstine also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Anoka always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Anoka's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Andover, their record is now 3-1.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Andover hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .481. However, it's not like Anoka struggles in that department as they've averaged .326. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Andover came out on top in a nail-biter against Anoka when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
