For the first time this season, Valley Vista will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will host the West Point Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Valley Vista is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Apollo just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 29-23 to the Hawks.

Addison Kennedy and Adria Garcia did some serious damage despite the final result: Kennedy got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Garcia went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Garcia is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Aliyiah Juarez was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, West Point made easy work of Dobson on Monday and carried off a 16-5 victory. Considering the Dragons have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Gabby Rodriguez was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Zerianna Gomez, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.
West Point lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
West Point now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Valley Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Valley Vista hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .464. However, it's not like West Point struggles in that department as they've averaged .409. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Valley Vista might still be hurting after the 22-6 defeat they got from West Point in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Monsoon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
