Brushton-Moira unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell  12-9 to the Norwood-Norfolk Flyers on Saturday. The Panthers have struggled against the Flyers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.
  Broc Allen and  Zyren Clark stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Allen  scored a  run while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances, while  Clark  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Parker Russell, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-5.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brushton-Moira will take on Parishville-Hopkinton at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Norwood-Norfolk, they will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Plattsburgh at 4:30  p.m.  on  the 29th.
