Whitehall/Willow Creek has been on the road for seven straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Jefferson Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Whitehall/Willow Creek beat the Wolves 61-50.
Meanwhile, Jefferson waltzed into their match on Thursday with 12 straight wins but they left with 13. They came out on top against Ennis by a score of 73-64.
Jefferson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was MacKenzie Layng, who shot 4-for-9 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a triple-double on 22 points, nine rebounds, and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Layng has scored all season. Cameron Toney was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Whitehall/Willow Creek's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Jefferson, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1.
Whitehall/Willow Creek might still be hurting after the 58-37 loss they got from the Panthers in their previous meeting back in January. Can Whitehall/Willow Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
