Los Alamos is 1-7 against Bernalillo since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Hilltoppers will be playing at home against the Spartans at 11:00 a.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bernalillo will be up against a hot Los Alamos team: the squad just extended their winning streak to 13. The Hilltoppers put the hurt on Taos with a sharp 14-7 win on Wednesday.

Malaya Haynes looked comfortable as she pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Los Alamos got a massive performance out of Aaliyah Chavez, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Abagail Deherrera was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Los Alamos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in ten consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bernalillo, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against Valley on Friday as they made off with a 16-1 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Spartans considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Calandria Montoya made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Montoya was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off three home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-4. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylee Herrera, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Neiva Montoya, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Los Alamos pushed their record up to 18-5-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Bernalillo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Los Alamos hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Bernalillo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.2 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Los Alamos came out on top in a nail-biter against Bernalillo in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Hilltoppers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
