Last Tuesday, Woodland Regional was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-49 to Seymour.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-28, which was the final score in Naugatuck's tilt against Seymour on Friday. Naugatuck has struggled against Seymour recently, as their game on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Woodland Regional dropped their record down to 8-10 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points per game. As for Naugatuck, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.
