The Santaluces Chiefs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 59-36 walloping at the hands of Jupiter. While losing is never fun, Santaluces can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 454th, while the Warriors are ranked 47th).
When it comes to explaining why Santaluces lost, one person who can't be blamed is Decarious Jenkins. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trent Nixon, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Santaluces' defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Jupiter, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 20-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santaluces won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Bulls at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. As for Jupiter, they and the Hawks will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Seminole Ridge has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
