Largo is on a four-game streak of home wins, while East Bay is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Largo Packers will take on the East Bay Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Largo was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 17-13 to Northeast.
Jeremy Thomas put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 79 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, East Bay put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They breezed by King on the road to the tune of 42-0. Given East Bay's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 240th, while King is ranked 494th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jaelin Sneed was his usual excellent self, rushing for 124 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Izaiah Ketchup, who rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for East Bay, racking up 12 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Kaydien Saul: he added nine points with three field goals, and another three kicking extra points.
Largo's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for East Bay, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Largo has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 167.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like East Bay struggles in that department as they've been even better at 282.6 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
