While St. Michael Academy couldn't quite beat the Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs on Friday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 30-point loss they were dealt last Thursday. St. Michael Academy fell just short of Grand Traverse Academy by a score of 20-18. St. Michael Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Grand Traverse Academy was led to victory by Cassidy Weber and Megan Pavwoski. Weber scored seven points along with three steals, while Pavwoski scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Pavwoski has scored at least a third of Grand Traverse Academy's points.
St. Michael Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Grand Traverse Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
St. Michael Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Grand Traverse Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th.
