After flying high against Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton last Thursday, the Christ Our Rock Lutheran Silver Stallions came back down to earth. Christ Our Rock Lutheran fell to North Clay/Clay City 47-42. Christ Our Rock Lutheran lost against North Clay/Clay City in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 51-37 score last time.
It was another big night for Alexis VanDyke, who scored 19 points along with six steals for North Clay/Clay City. VanDyke has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Miah Ballard, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Christ Our Rock Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for North Clay/Clay City, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.
Christ Our Rock Lutheran won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Dupo at 9:30 a.m. on December 28th. Dupo is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. North Clay/Clay City won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Staunton at 3:30 p.m. on December 28th. Staunton is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
