The Carolina Day Wildcats struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Asheville Christian Academy Lions had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Carolina Day ended up on the wrong side of a tough 55-30 walloping at the hands of the Lions. Carolina Day was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-12.
Despite the loss, Carolina Day had strong showings from Lily Everette, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Taylor Williams, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Williams is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.
Leading Asheville Christian Academy to victory were Reece Shuman and Sara Larios. Shuman scored 12 points along with five steals, while Larios scored 19 points along with eight steals and six assists. Larios hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ansley Fuchs, who scored eight points.
Carolina Day has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Asheville Christian Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11.
Carolina Day will head out on the road to face off against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Asheville Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against the Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Brevard is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
