The Gibson County Pioneers pushed their score all the way to 62 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The match between Gibson County and Jackson North Side wasn't particularly close, with Gibson County falling 79-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (57), Gibson County still had to take the loss.
Jackson North Side got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Desmond Manley out in front who scored 19 points. The game was Manley's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Markalyn Kelly, who scored 18 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Gibson County and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Jackson North Side, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Gibson County is on the road again on Friday and play against Sacred Heart of Jesus at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. As for Jackson North Side, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Haywood at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th. Hopefully Haywood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
