The Central Valley Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Atwater, falling 72-45. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Central Valley in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now lost nine in a row.
Central Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Gutierrez, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryan Rodriguez, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Central Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season. As for Atwater, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Valley will square off against the Thunder at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Buhach Colony is on a four-game streak of home losses, the Hawks a 21-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. As for Atwater, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bears at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
