The Estero Wildcats struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Fort Myers Green Wave had 800% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Estero had to suffer through a rough 75-44 loss at the hands of Fort Myers. Estero lost against Fort Myers in their previous head to head back in February of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 71-48 score last time.
Estero's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lee Eckman, who scored 18 points, and Ashton Peterson who scored 13 points. Eckman scored a full 40.9% of Estero's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jacob Sander was another key contributor, scoring 4 points.
Marquielle Tory was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 14 points along with 8 steals and 7 assists. Another player making a difference was Therry Theresias, who scored 14 points along with 9 rebounds.
Estero's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Fort Myers, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Estero will take on Bonita Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Myers, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against South Fort Myers at 7:30 p.m. South Fort Myers is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
