Canyon is 8-2 against Golden Valley since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Canyon will look to defend their home field against Golden Valley at 3:15 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Canyon took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Verdugo Hills a 4-0 shutout. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cowboys as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Not much got past Jessica Carr, who gave up just three hits and racked up 15 Ks to keep Verdugo Hills off the board. That's the most strikeouts Carr has posted since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Karina Montero, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Maci Dunagan, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Golden Valley). Everything went their way against Van Nuys on Monday as Golden Valley made off with a 23-0 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Ilana Watson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Watson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Golden Valley let Rohan Elhamamsy and Andrea Bartels run wild. Elhamamsy went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base, while Bartels got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Emma Valenzuela was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Golden Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Van Nuys struck out ten times.
The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-7. As for Golden Valley, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 3-5 record.
Canyon was able to grind out a solid victory over Golden Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 3-0. Will Canyon repeat their success, or does Golden Valley has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
