Softball Recap: Badger Wins Going Away Against Bloomfield

Badger owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Bloomfield Cardinals. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Samantha Bradbury's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Madison Lindus was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Kiyah Scharfenberg was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Badger is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Bloomfield, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Badger is set to face off against their familiar foe Windham at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bloomfield will square off against rival Grand Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
