Lakewood hit Newark Catholic with a five-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Green Wave lost 12-2 to the Lancers. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Green Wave couldn't push the score so high this time.
Joanna Bailey 2026 made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Ridgedale's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. The Rockets have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Newark Catholic, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Ridgedale continue to outrun the ball?
Ridgedale came up short against Newark Catholic in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, falling 5-0. Can the Rockets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
