Makayla Howard was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 4-for-5.
In other batting news, Sophie Cline was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Cadence Cape, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Foundation Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Northside Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
The future could be bright for both Foundation Christian Academy and Northside Christian: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently.
