 Owen got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Asante Martin out in front who  went 7 for 16  en route to 20  points in addition to eight  rebounds and five  assists. Martin is also on a roll when it comes to  steals, as he's  now  grabbed two or more in the last five games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Jackson Warnock, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on 11 points and nine  boards.
 Despite the loss, Avery County still got an impressive performance from   Oak Markland, who  went 6 of 14  on his way to 15  points and six  rebounds.  Landon Liner was another key player,  putting up nine points.
Owen's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Avery County, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
 Coming up, Owen will face off against Madison at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Owen knows how to get  points on the board -- the  squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 matches -- so hopefully Madison likes a good challenge. As for Avery County, they will square off against NCSSM: Morganton at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. Avery County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.8  points per game  this season.
