Henlopen - Northern recap October 8, 2013
Dover added to the longest winning streak in Henlopen - Northern this week by beating Sussex Tech, 39-27. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
The Ravens made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,868 from 3,055. The improvement was largely due to a 39-27 victory over Sussex Tech last week.
Dover's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nick Spadafino threw for 144 yards and Tavarus Sample had 142 yards receiving. On the ground Raekwon Bouges contributed 217 yards. Aaron Jenkins helped Dover's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 23 yards.
Bouges provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Dante Jones' team bested Mark Quillin's team. Bouges' key target this week was Sample, who caught 9 passes for 142 yards.
Bouges was a beast in the backfield as the Senators topped the Ravens.
Spadafino put up the best numbers in passing as Dover defeated Sussex Tech.
Dover's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Senators feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Spadafino has thrown for 628 yards and 3 touchdowns this season, while Sample has 30 catches for 441 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Sussex Central and Caesar Rodney. The Golden Knights comes into the matchup ranked 10th in the state, while the Riders ranks fifth.
There should be lots of points scored when Cape Henlopen and the Senators face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Vikings comes in having scored 63 this season, while Dover has scored 152. Cape Henlopen scored 7 points last week as it lost to Bullis.
Caesar Rodney led the league in scoring this week by notching 55 points on Poly.
