Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, the Newbury Park Adventist Gators couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 60-46 bruising from the Dons on Wednesday. Newbury Park Adventist has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Leading Sierra Vista to victory were David Orozco and Aaron Buna. Orozco scored 11 points along with three steals, while Buna scored 12 points along with six assists and three steals. Buna has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anson Wei, who scored seven points.
Newbury Park Adventist's defeat dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Sierra Vista, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season.
Newbury Park Adventist does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sierra Vista, they will square off against Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Sierra Vista focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Wednesday.
