Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) snapped
Cornwall Central (New Windsor, N.Y.)'s 11-game winning streak, with a 28-13 victory on Saturday.
The Spartans were up 14-13 at the half after taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter.
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake expanded its lead to eight points entering the fourth quarter. BHBL scored once in the quarter on a
Josh Quesada touchdown run.
With the win the Burnt Hills school extended its winning streak to 11 games. The Spartans defeated the Sandstoners 42-0 last week.
The Dragons'
Jeff Grygiel played well. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored nine touchdowns on the season.
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake's most effective player was Quesada. The junior halfback ran for two touchdowns.
BHBL came into the game allowing 9.1 points per game. Cornwall Central's 13 points were well below its season average of 43.7 per game.
The Spartans also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 35-14.
The loss comes after Cornwall Central defeated Somers 34-13 last week.
