The DuQuoin Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 56-36 loss at the hands of Pinckneyville. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for DuQuoin in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost nine in a row.
DuQuoin's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Eli Maynor, who scored 12 points along with two steals, and Jeremiah Jones who scored 11 points. Jones is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Dwayne Wilmington was another key contributor, scoring six points.
DuQuoin has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Pinckneyville, they pushed their record up to 20-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
DuQuoin will take on the Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pinckneyville, they will head out on the road to take on the Midgets at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Freeburg will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Panthers are ranked 94th).
