The Miami Stingarees will head out on the road to square off against the Hialeah Thoroughbreds at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Miami has seven straight victories, Hialeah has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Miami is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Downtown Doral with a sharp 20-11 win on Monday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Stingarees, who until this matchup were averaging 1.8 runs allowed.
Santiago Espana-Reconco looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Noah Llovet was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Seven bases. while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Darvin Linarte, who went 2-for-6 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Miami kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.8.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Hialeah's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of iMater Charter on Friday. Thoroughbreds fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Knights since on Friday.
Miami pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Hialeah, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Hialeah's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Miami has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .509. It's a different story for Hialeah, though, as they've only averaged .336. Will they be able to contain Miami's hitters?
Miami took their win against Hialeah in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-2. Does Miami have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hialeah turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
