The Westminster Academy Lions will face off against the Archbishop Alter Knights at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Westminster Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Last Thursday, Westminster Academy strolled past American Heritage with points to spare, taking the game 67-48. Given Westminster Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while American Heritage is ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Westminster Academy found their leader in underclassman Alex Constanza, who shot 5-for-7 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a triple-double on 29 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists. That's the first time this season that Constanza posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Dwayne Wimbley jr., who scored 12 points along with six assists.
Meanwhile, even though Beavercreek scored an imposing 62 points on Tuesday, Archbishop Alter still came out on top. Archbishop Alter walked away with a 69-62 win over Beavercreek. The win made it back-to-back wins for Archbishop Alter.
Westminster Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Archbishop Alter, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
