Seattle Christian is 0-10 against Bellevue Christian since April of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Warriors will welcome the Vikings at 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday just wasn't the day for Seattle Christian's offense. They came up short against Charles Wright on Tuesday, falling 13-0. The Warriors' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Seattle Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Hilburn, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Bellevue Christian's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Charles Wright on Tuesday. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Klahowya 6-5.
Dayton Rogers tossed a big game, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Luke Evenson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cash Erdman, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Bellevue Christian's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Seattle Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Seattle Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bellevue Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Seattle Christian might still be hurting after the 20-0 loss they got from Bellevue Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
