The Cloverdale Clovers will head out on the road to square off against the Bloomfield Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Cloverdale turned things around against Shakamak on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lakers, sneaking past 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Clovers have posted since May 21, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Paisley Meyerrose, who fired off two home runs and four runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Aalyiah Burroff was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Cloverdale lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Bloomfield not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8th (when they won 14-4). They put the hurt on Dugger Union with a sharp 9-1 win. With that victory, the Cardinals brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Farrah Hostetter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Lailey Smith was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Addison Lafree, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Bloomfield is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cloverdale, their record now sits at 4-7.
Cloverdale was able to grind out a solid victory over Bloomfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, winning 8-4. Will the Clovers repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
