The Taos Tigers gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Moriarty by a score of 21-12. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Taos also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Mateo Salazar was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 164 yards while picking up 10.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 38 receiving yards. Reggie Suazo and his 80 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Taos' win.
Despite the loss, Moriarty still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Quintana, who rushed for 96 yards. Quintana's longest rush was for an incredible 79 yards.
The win makes it two in a row for Taos and bumps their season record up to 4-7. As for Moriarty, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Taos will take on Aztec at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Moriarty does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
