The Rockwood Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Greenback 54-50. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rockwood in their matchups with Greenback: they've now lost six in a row.
Greenback's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emory McDonell led the charge by scoring 17 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which McDonell has scored at least 25% of Greenback's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shay McDonell, who scored 14 points.
Rockwood now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Greenback, their victory bumped their record up to 2-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockwood will take on Wartburg Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wartburg Central is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Greenback, they will head out on the road to face off against Oakdale at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
