Tajari Wellington had an outrageously good game as he threw for 243 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 passes, and also rushed for 80 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries. Jay didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Wallace Wellington.
Meanwhile, Martin scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They and Winn were almost perfectly matched up, but the Tigers suffered a 27-26 loss. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jay pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.5 points on average over those games. As for Martin, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
