The Fairfield Lions can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Whiteoak 58-28 on the road. Given Fairfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Whiteoak is ranked 722nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fairfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan McIntosh, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds. McIntosh continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Larkin Friend, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Fairfield pushed their record up to 18-3 with that victory, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Whiteoak, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16.
Fairfield will head out on the road to face off against Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Whiteoak, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lynchburg-Clay at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
