The Meridian Hawks will be playing at home against the Nokomis Redskins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Meridian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches.
Meridian pushed their score all the way to 67 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Maroa-Forsyth 73-67.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Sebastian Hill, who scored 34 points along with six rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brooks Brown, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 18 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Nokomis' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 47-26 walloping at the hands of Litchfield. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Nokomis struggled afterwards.
Meridian's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Nokomis, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
