With a playoff win on the line, Jefferson rose to the challenge  on Monday. They put the hurt on the Spring Mills Cardinals with a sharp  11-2 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by eight  runs or more this season.
 Brooke Allen and  Becca Munslow made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound,  Allen   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Meanwhile,  Munslow   struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. At the plate,  Allen  went 1-for-2 with two  runs and one  stolen base, while  Munslow  went 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Savannah Smith and  Ainsley Phillips did most of the damage at the plate:  Smith  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI, while  Phillips  went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases, one  triple,  and one  run. That's the most  hits  Phillips has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of  Graclyn Dodson, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double.
 Jefferson was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spring Mills only posted a  batting average of  .059.
The  win (which was Jefferson's fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-4. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Spring Mills,  the  defeat snapped their winning streak at four games  and leaves them with a 18-9 record.
Jefferson will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cardinals: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
