The Milford Eagles will face off against the Kings Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Milford comes in on ten and Kings on three.
On Monday, Milford sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Lebanon. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted against the Warriors since May 4, 2022.
Meghan McClellan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Paige Kinkaid was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Lanie McCoy, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, Kings made easy work of Winton Woods on Monday and carried off a 21-2 win. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.
Alexis Fera was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Fera was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Kings got a massive performance out of Madison Titler, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Grace Parkhurst was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Milford's victory bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Kings, their win bumped their record up to 14-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Milford has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Kings struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Milford came out on top in a nail-biter against Kings in their previous matchup on Thursday, sneaking past 4-2. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
